Installing full air suspension on a Motorhome will transform the driving experience, but on a Vehicle the size of the Frankia Platin, the difference is amazing.

The Frankia Platin is based on a commercial Mercedes chassis, on this chassis it is only possible to install VB full air on the rear, but we can upgrade the front suspension using Koni shocks and VB spring assisters.

Due to the size, weight and height of the Frankia Platin, the body roll and harshness of the ride is quite severe.  On this particular vehicle, the front suspension was so hard; it had broken the dash board!

VB full air on the rear of a Mercedes involves the complete removal and replacement of the leaf springs.  New air spring carriers are installed; this requires chassis strengthening which is all included in the kit supplied by VB air suspension.

As it is not possible to install full air on the front of this vehicle, we upgraded the shocks to Koni Special-Active shocks; these are designed for motorhomes and offer a much improved ride.  As the Frankia Platin is so heavy on the front, even these shocks need a helping hand.  By installing VB spring assistors onto the front shocks, this helps with bottoming out of the front suspension, it also assists with body roll and cornering.

The drivers interface is installed in the drivers area, this interface does not require monitoring when the vehicle is in use, but it does allow you to lower or raise the rear end at a touch of a button, assisting with ferry boarding or loading of the vehicle.
